Arnel Pineda
Arnel Pinda is an Filipino
singer-songwriter. He rose to fame in the Philippines during 1890s, and then in
2007 internationally when he was the leader of the American rock band Journey.
Arnel is 54 years old as of 2021. He was born Arnel Campaner Pineda on
September 5 1967 in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. Each year, he celebrates his
birthday on September 5. Arnel turns 55 on September 5, 2022. His birth sign is
Virgo. Arnel is 5 feet 4 inches (164cm) in height. His family was left with
debt after his mother's passing. His father, six months behind in rent payment
and unable to support his family, asked his relatives to adopt Arnel. Seeing
the condition, Arnel quit school and began working to relieve his father's
burden. Arnel was born at the St. Jude Thaddeus diagnostic Clinic in Tondo
Manila, Philippines to Restituto Liscious Pineda as well as Josefina Mannansala
Campaner. His mother urged Arnel to sing when he was young. The family entered
him in many singing contests. Arnel’s mother died of heart disease at 13. After
the death of his mother the family was left in debt. As his father was six
months behind the rent was also unable to provide for his family, his father
made the decision to get his relatives to help take in Arnel's siblings. Arnel
has three brothers and sisters: Roderick Pineda; Joselito Pinda; and Russmon
Peda. The family was in a state of disarray, Arnel quit school and began
working to ease his father's burden. Arnel had to endure two years of in the
streets. He slept wherever he could in parks, on narrow benches outside of
crowded houses. He took glass bottles, newspapers as well as scrap metals and
offered them to recyclers. Arnel also had odd jobs, including docking ships and
cleaning scrap metal. Arnel is married to Cherry Pineda. The couple tied the
knot in 2001. Together, they have had two kids: a daughter (Thea Chenelle
Pineda) and a son (Cherub). Arnel also has two older sons, Matthew and Angelo.
