Britney Jean Spears
Britney Jean Spears was conceived in
McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood. Britney had dance lessons as a
youngster and was an excellent gymnast, winning numerous contests. Britney
loves to sing and, more important, she was a fan of dancing classes. Britney
was eight years old when she applied to join The All New Mickey Mouse Club
(1989) however her age and youth led to her being disqualified. It led her to
an off-Broadway show, "Ruthless", for an entire two-year run as the
lead character. When she was 11 years old, she auditioned to be a part of The
All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989). The second time, she played a mouseketeer
along with many others of the stars of today, Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez
(*NSYNC) and Ryan Gosling. In the latter part of the 90s, Britney was signed by
Jive Recording Artist. Britney was a huge hit after the release of her debut
album "...Baby one more time" in 1999. The album sold 13 million
copies (as of July 2001) of her second album "Oops !...I did it
Again" which was released in May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne
Spears and Jamie Spears. She has an older brother Bryan Spears and a little
sister Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was born to be a star from a young age.
Britney loved singing and was inspired by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.
After a long period of dance and vocal lessons and performing in numerous
showcases and fairs, Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club
(1989) television series between 1989 and 1994 when she was just 8years old, however,
she was too young for the part. Britney relocated to New York with her mother
and her baby sister. She appeared in a variety of TV ads and was an understudy
for Natalie Portman in "Ruthless" off-Broadway. She discovered her
love for dance and music 2 years later, when she auditioned once more for
"Mickey Mouse" which she won with Justin Timberlake and Christina
Aguilera.
