Bruce Willis
Bruce Willis, actor and musician, is
well-known for his smart and hard-edged parts in action films. He has been
featured in films that have earned in excess of $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce
Willis, a West German actor, was born in Idar–Obersteinin West Germany on March
19 1955. He was the son of Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David
Andrew Willis (from New Jersey), who lived on a base for the military in the
United States. The family moved to the U.S. shortly after he was born, and he
was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey where his mother worked as a bank clerk,
and his father was a welding and factory worker. Willis was interested in
acting at the age of high school. When he worked at an New York City café, the
cafe was "discovered". Then, he was able to be seen in several
off-Broadway productions. One night, Willis was working as a bartender and was
noticed by a casting supervisor who liked his personality. He was looking for
an bartender for a small role in a movie. Willis was a candidate for a variety
of roles in films but he was not credited. He ultimately got the part of David
Addison, a private eye, alongside Cybill Shepherd in the romantic comedy series
Moonlighting (1985). The sarcastic and wise-cracking P.I. Some view it as an
exercise to practice for Willis as McClane in Die Hard (1988), where he
defeated a gang international of thieves at the Los Angeles skyscraper. The
sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990), Willis reprised his role in the role of McClane. The
plot set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of
rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to get back a corrupt South
American general. Strong box office results prompted an additional sequel Die
Hard with a Vengeance (1995) which, this time with co-star Samuel L. Jackson as
a cynical Harlem shop owner who accidentally gets into supporting McClane in
the aftermath of a terrorist bombing campaign in the midst of a hot summer day
in New York.
