Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18, 1985, at Los Angeles. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed a flair for sports early, and discovered her talent for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her initial attempt, she placed 2nd in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to an official career at Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. One year later Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking an all-time junior world record taking 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to win the 200 meter race. In 2007 she defended the title by beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She consistently placed at the top of the podium in the events.
